Beat the Odds® Scholarship Program

Join us at the Alexandria Courthouse for the twenty-second annual awards ceremony to meet and congratulate this year's recipients. A catered reception will follow.

We look forward to celebrating the youth of Alexandria who are overcoming adversity to succeed.

The Foundation of the Alexandria Bar Association is proud to highlight The Honorable Judge Tamika D. Jones at this year’s Beat the Odds Ceremony & Reception. Judge Jones brings a distinguished record of service to the bench and to the legal community, making her presence especially meaningful as we honor this year’s scholarship recipients.

Judge Jones currently serves on the Fairfax County General District Court, where she oversees a wide range of traffic, criminal, and civil matters. She is a graduate of the University of Lynchburg and The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and has been a member of the Virginia Bar since 2009. Her career spans deep experience in criminal, civil, and family law, and she has long been an influential voice in the profession. Judge Jones is also a past president of the Alexandria Bar Association and remains an active leader within the broader Virginia legal community.

Join us on Thursday, April 23rd, at 5:00 p.m. in the Alexandria Circuit Court for an inspiring evening celebrating students who have overcome significant challenges to achieve academic excellence. A catered reception will follow the ceremony.
