John F. AndersonMagistrate Judge United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division John F. Anderson was appointed a Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division in January 2008. Prior to his appointment he spent over twenty five years in private practice handling a variety of civil matters, including a significant number of intellectual property disputes in the Eastern District of Virginia involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, domain names and copyrights. Judge Anderson received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and J.D. from the University of Virginia. He clerked for the Honorable James H. Michael, Jr. in the Western District of Virginia after graduating from law school.
