Presenter: James Turner

James. D. Turner has practiced law on South Royal Street, in the City of Alexandria for approximately 35 years. His areas of practice focus on real estate matters, zoning matters, elder law and estate planning. He is actively involved in real estate development and self manages his own real property portfolio consisting of over 175 residential and commercial rental units.

He began his undergraduate studies at Ferrum College then transferred to James Madison University obtaining his bachelor’s degree and juris doctorate from Potomac School of Law. He began his legal career as a Magistrate with the Supreme Court of Virginia at the age of 22 and then served as Special Magistrate with Fairfax County. He has served as a Special Commissioner, Commissioner in Chancery, Guardian and Guardian ad litem with various Circuit Courts during his legal career. He has served as an expert witness in real estate title disputes in Fairfax County, City of Alexandria and Arlington County.
